The British crime drama series Top Boy created by Ronan Bennett became more popular after the release of its third season on Netflix. Previously, the series was dropped, or you can say it was canceled by Channel 4. But in 2017, the series was revived by Rapper Drake (one of the fans), and we got the third installment in 2019.
The first two seasons were available on Channel 4. Later DVDs were provided for both the seasons. The third season revived the series in 2019. The series was announced for two seasons in 2017, claiming the first installment in 2019 and another in 2020.
Also, in the last episode of the story, the lead character Dushane met Jamie in prison. He also offered Jamie to help him in his escape and become his drug-dealing partner in London. Sarah and Lee, who came up as undercover officers, want to put Dushane behind bars. All these questions are needed to be answered, which also assures a new season.
Here is good news for the viewers who are craving for the further story. Netflix confirmed the renewal for the fourth installment through the most official social media platform, Twitter. There was also a confirmation on the official Instagram of Drake Rapper.

Top Boy Season 4 Release Date
The latest installment was released in September 2019. Previously, in 2017 it was announced that the third and fourth season would be aired on Netflix in 2019 and 2020. The latest news from Twitter confirmed that the shooting would start from the spring of this year 2020.
But in the current conditions of pandemic coronavirus, it is quite impossible to start the filming. The company may begin production work by the end of this year if the conditions return to normal. Top Boy Season 4 Cast
Having a break in the series didn’t affect the cast very much. The cast in the third installment was the same as in the previous two seasons. Some of the main cast members are- Ashley Walters as Dushane, Kane Robinson as Sully, Shone Romulus as Dris, Michael Ward as Jamie, Giacomo Mancini as Gem, Isla Jackson Ritchie as Sarah, Josef Altin as Lee, Simbi Ajikawa as Shelly, etc.
The fourth season will at least be considering Dushane, Sully, Jamie, and Shelly as per its confirmation from Netflix. Some new cast members are likely to be introduced in the fourth installment. Some members from the previous two seasons may come into action. The rest will be depending on the plot.

Toy Boy Season 4 Plot
The plot of the series keeps revolving around Dushane and Sully, who were partners in drug dealing in London. After some disputes, they get parted and are enemies to each other. Later in the revival of the series, they seemed to get together. A new rival was there named Jamie, who was a new drug dealer from the times when Dushane and Sully were not in London. Jamie tried to overcome Dushane and Sully and stop them from re-establishing their business.
In the end, Dushane was shown meeting Jamie in prison, offering him help in escaping. It could be the start of the new season. Dushane, along with Jamie, may start the drug dealing again in the City. Sully was shown killing Dris for breaking his trust. Sarah and Lee will be busy concentrating on arresting Dushane as they were revealed to be undercover officers. In the next installment, they might get Dushane behind bars or may struggle for it.

Top Boy Filming Location
The show is set in Hackney while it has been mostly filmed in Kent (Thanet, Ramsgate). As of now, the info on the upcoming installment is scarce, we can only to get it filmed at the established locations, and not the ones used before.
What about Top Boy season 5?
We know that the show has been revived for two more seasons, i.e., 4 and 5. The fourth one has already been released in late 2019 while the second one is to air in 2020.
Until now, Netflix hasn’t said anything about Top Boy season 4 being the last installment. It simply means that it will be re-commissioned for another run. It is well-known that the streaming giant doesn’t like to reveal the viewership figures for their content, so it depends on how pleased they are with their latest outing.
