Pranab Mukherjee Health Status: Is He Dead or Alive?
On August 10, 2020, Tuesday, Dr Pranab Mukherjee was admitted to the hospital and then underwent a surgery for removal of a clot in his brain. Also, he had tested positive for coronavirus in the past.
If we believe the hospital reports, they say that Pranab isn’t responding to treatment. The reports also mention that there has been no improvement in the former president’s health since Tuesday evening.
Congress leader and Mukherjee’s daughter, Sharmistha Mukherjee did post an emotional tweet for his father. In it, she prayed for her father and reminisced last year when he was awarded Bharat Ratna on August 8.
“Last year August 8 was one of the happiest days for me as my dad received Bharat Ratna. Exactly a year later on August 10, he fell critically ill. May God do whatever is best for him and give me the strength to accept both joys and sorrows of life with equanimity. I sincerely thank all for their concerns,” she wrote on Twitter.
Mukherjee has been a powerful orator and scholar. From 2012 to 2017, he had held the office as the President of India. The reports say that he had maintained a good rapport with bureaucrats and leaders across parties.
Political leaders like Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, Union Minister Piyush Goyal, Congress leader Abhishek Singhvi, Congress chief spokesperson Randeep Surjewala, and others have wished the 84-year-old man for his good health and speedy recovery.
Moreover, Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh had visited the R&R Hospital to enquire about the former president’s health.
People of Mukherjee’s ancestral village in West Bengal even performed a Maha Mrityujaya yajna in the hope that the former president will recover soon.
What is Haemodynamically Stable?
In medical term, stable is used to describe the unchanged condition of a patient. In layman’s term, it means staying the same as before. Stable also means – no worse than before. Also, it is often used when a patient is on maximum life-support. Doctors describe a patient as ‘hemodynamically stable’ when his/her blood pressure and heart rate are stable. It’s an important thing to note that patients can be ‘stable’, but still critically ill.
