The Malibu Rescue franchise started with a movie released in May 2019, followed by a series in June 2019 and a movie named ‘Malibu Rescue: The Next Wave’ in August 2020. Both received excellent reviews from the audience, and that’s why the show’s fans are speculating for season 3.
The first movie in the franchise revolved around Tyler, whose stepfather enrolled him into the Malibu Junior Rescue Program as a punishment. There he met a group of other teenagers from the valley, which then became a team and participated in the International Junior Rescue Championship.
The show unfolds various phases of teamwork like jealousy, selfishness, failures, success, friendship, etc.
Malibu Rescue Season 3 Renewal Status
As seen in the past, Netflix only renews those seasons or movies which were quite popular among the masses. That’s why the time gap between the Malibu Rescue the Movie, the series, and then again the film was only one month and eight months.
And judging its popularity among the teenagers and kids age group, it is pretty evident that the producers of the show might think over season three. Till this time neither the producers nor Netflix have shared any update about the renewal of Malibu Rescue.
Malibu Rescue Season 3 Release Date Updates
The time gap between the series and movie is very less, because of its popularity among the younger generation. So, studying the pattern of release date by Netflix, the third season is expected to come in December 2020, as the last movie ‘Malibu Rescue: The Next Wave’ was released in August 2020.
But considering the effect of the recent pandemic on the production process, we can speculate that it might not release before March 2021. As the authorities have given strict rules on following the guidelines for the spread of corona, movie or series direction will be pretty tricky in parallel to following these norms of the coronavirus.

Malibu Rescue Season 3 Cast
In the franchise, the two movies and the series, one thing remained the same – the cast. So, in season three, there is a high probability that the cast is going to stay unchanged.
Maybe a few guest appearances could appear, or a supporting cast gets a more prominent role in season 3. Other than that the cast is overall going to remain the same as earlier.
In the previous three runs, the titular role of Tyler is played by Ricardo Hurtado, Jackie r. Jacobson essayed the role of Dylan (the first female tower captain), Abby Donnelly as Lizzie, Alkoya Bronson as Eric, and Breanne Yde as Gina (the star athlete of the group).
Besides these, Ian Ziering as Garvin Cross and JT Neal as Brody played a spectacular supporting cast in the series/movies. It is also predicted that Jeff Meacham as Tyler’s stepfather might make a re-entry in season three. Still, all these are just a healthy prediction not confirmed by any sources.

Malibu Rescue Season 3 Plot
The film’s climax featured the Flounders competing on par with the team of Australia for the championship. But Tyler gets injured, and the team loses the championship against Australia. Although the winner was Australia, the team that won the hearts was the Flounders (Tyler’s team).
Season three will be going to start from the climax of the movie, with Flounders winning the hearts and now decided to train the new trainee coming for the summers program. Their rescue video goes viral, which made them famous in California state, making them able to start their own Beach Rescue program for youngsters.
As the team got defeated by the Australian team in the climax, we might see them again competing with each other for the coveted International Junior Rescue Championship. In one of the movies or series of the franchise, a romantic angle was also insinuated. Still, as the show was restricted to a definite age group, the romantic angle was not pursued further.
But that romantic angle can be ignited in season three, as the writers need some material to revolve their story around that.
