Entertainment TV

The first part of Lucifer season 5, i.e., the first eight eight episodes have been released on Netflix. The all-new episodes of the series are now available on the streaming platform. After binge-watching the first half of the latest season, the fans are craving for the second half. So, they ask when would the season 5b be available, and other related stuff regarding the show.

Does Lucifer Season 5 Part 1 end on a cliffhanger?

Yes, it does end on a cliffhanger. However, the fitting end to installment five is yet to come. The rest of the eight episodes will set it up. The midseason finale is titled ‘Spoiler Alert,’ which features the team Lucifer in complete disarray. Ella found out that her boyfriend, Pete, was a serial killer. Daniel is still frightened to know Lucifer’s real identity. Amenadiel is anxious that his son Charlie may turn out to be completely mortal. Lucifer’s evil brother Michael told Maze about her mother, Lilith, which Lucifer had kept it as a secret from her. In that anger, she has teamed up with Michael. Moreover, he has promised her a soul.

Michael didn’t stop manipulating others there. Then, he kidnapped detective Chloe Decker and made her doubt about her relationship with Lucifer. For instance, how has he suddenly become invulnerable around her? If he can’t tell a lie, why did he not tell Chloe that he loves her? She came to a realization that maybe he has chosen to stay invulnerable around her. Once Chloe asked him if he loves her, he stuttered. Amendiel applied a time-stopping trick to prevent Charlie from ageing and to die.

All of this mess resulted in a big fight – Michael and Maze vs Lucifer and Amenadiel. Now, only God, portrayed by Dennis Haysbert, can stop the war. (check: who is Matt Owens in Lucifer season 5?)

When will Lucifer season 5 part 2 release? Premiere Date

The first brand-new episodes of Lucifer season 5 are now available on Netflix. The fans can now binge-watch and enjoy the series. The eager wait of the show’s fan following ended when the crime-solving devil returned with his beloved detectives after over a year. These premiered on August 21, 2020, night.

After watching the first part, the fans are now asking for the rest of the installment. Season 5 of Lucifer has been divided into two parts. That means, there are eight more episodes left in the installment. However, the streaming giant Netflix hasn’t confirmed anything official yet. It might suggest that the fans would have to wait a little longer before they could binge-watch the rest of the part.

The main reason is the COVID-19 outbreak. The coronavirus pandemic has made the world come to a halt. As a result, the production houses had to stop their work midway. But, the work has started at a slow pace. Before the filming of the fifth installment paused, the series was already in its final episode. In regards to the security of public health, the decision to stop the filming was made. The actor Tom Ellis revealed the same in a recent interview.

Ellis continued to say that the filming would take longer than usual as the new protocols have come in action. According to him, their previous plan was to move from season five to film season six. However, any specific date isn’t official yet. Earlier, in June, it was reported that the filming might begin in mid-October 2020. However, it will be dependent on the number of cases.

Even if the filming is completed soon, we don’t know when it would be available on Netflix for release. We are expecting it to arrive in 2021. Then only, we would be able to see how the story ends for various characters. We will update the article as soon as any new information arrives. Below, we have the titles for the upcoming episodes.

Will there be Lucifer season 6?

Initially, the fifth installment was intended to be the end of the series. But, Netflix recalled the deal and extended the show for a sixth run. Undoubtedly, the coronavirus will impact Lucifer. Its filming happens in Los Angeles while production takes place in California. Both the cities are now on their way to get a normal routine. The writers’ room is up and running. Thus, pre-production is underway, but we don’t when the filming would start.
