An house explosion took place on Joliet’s east side. The incident is of Sunday afternoon. Following the explosion, one of Joliet resident Bob Hernandez and produced a Facebook Live video. He went to the accident scene on East Washington Street.
The house that exploded is located outside the city of Joliet limits near the intersection of Clairmont Avenue. Hernandez reported that five people have been hospitalized, and there could be pets inside the house.
The property belongs to a guy who worked at Caterpillar, Pastor Warren Dorris, one of Facebook users, commented on Hernandez’s post. In the comment, Dorris said that the owner is a good man and was not inside the house. He believe that someone from his family was inside.
The incident took place at 2200 E. Washington St. in unincorporated Will County. The office of the Will County Sherrif explosion happened before 3 pm. There is no active fire, though the explosion caused a lot of damage. The house was kinda leveled and neighboring homes suffered minor damage.
The injured persons didn’t get life threatening injuries as per the officials. However, one person was in critical condition. Reportedly, the three people were outside the house when it exploded. The man and woman who live in the house were just outside it at the time of explosion. A neighbor was standing acrsso the street at that time.
The officials have closed some streets in the area. The Will County Sheriff’s Office and East Joliet Fire Department responded to Sunday’s emergency. So far, the cause of explosion hasn’t been known yet.
