Alex Hirsch’s brainchild, Gravity Falls, was proved to be an overall success with a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The series only has two seasons in total, while the second season concluded on February 15, 2016.
Even after Hirsch made it clear in 2015 about “Weirdmageddon 3: Take Back The Falls” being the last episode in the series. It’s been quite some time (four years to be precise) since the epic tale of the twin siblings came to an end, and the fans still cling on to the last string of hope of a season three.
The twelve-year-old twin duo of Dipper and Mabel Pines travel to a fictitious town of Gravity Falls (Roadkill County, Oregon) to spend their summer away from their home Piedmont, California. In Gravity Falls, their great uncle Stan, widely known as Grunkle Stan, lives.
The small town isn’t as peaceful as it seems in the beginning. It trails ample dangers and mysteries, which Dipper and Mabel solve during their time in the town. When Dipper finds a stranded diary in the middle of a forest, he equips it to solve the mysteries that entail Gravity Falls with the help of Mabel, Wendy, Soos, and Grunkle Stan.
Gravity Falls Season 3: Is it still possible?
A third installment for the series may not be on the table for Alex Hirsch, the creator, because he’d been vocal about his plans for the show. He said, “a real conclusion for the characters” is what he was aiming for and achieved with grace. He added that the show has seen its end and will remain that way. However, Hirsch said that he would possibly continue to work on graphic novels and special episodes.
For those of you who don’t know or might have missed it, Alex Hirsch published a graphic novel ‘Gravity Falls: Lost Legends’ on July 24, 2018. Hopefully, we might get to see some special episodes of teenage Dipper and Mabel, solving more mysteries in their free time.
Who is the cast for Gravity Falls season 3?
Dipper Pines, the older twin, is voiced by Jason Ritter. Dipper finds a journal named “3” in the forest. He begins to carry on himself every day and refers to when solving mysteries. He is a very imaginative and creative twelve-year-old boy who cannot sit idle and keeps himself busy by solving riddles daily. Lastly, he also happens to have feelings for Wendy, a teenage girl.
Kristen Schaal lent her voice to Mabel Pines, Dipper’s younger sister and twin. This lively girl with extreme talent in the arts helps her brother untangle the town’s mysteries. Mabel is also an avid reader of fictional novels and especially the ones revolving around vampires and romance.
The great uncle Stan aka Grunkle Stan uses the voice of Alex Hirsch himself. He is as self-centered, rough and aggressive as any other alpha male but loves the twins wholeheartedly. He owns the Mystery Shack, where he sells items on an inflated price to the tourists. His greed also gets him in grave danger sometimes, but the twins stand by to help him.
Hirsch also voices Jesus Alzamirano “Soos” Ramirez. The 22-year-old Soos is a helper at the Mystery Shack. An expert in engineering, DJ work, and pinball, he is ever ready to help out Dipper and Mabel in any situation. Lastly, Linda Cardellini voices Wendy Corduroy, a teenager and part-time worker at the Mystery Shack.
The strength-stricken girl is always a part of the group because she doesn’t just offer physical strength, but Dipper has a crush on her. Having said that, Wendy does not reciprocate his feelings. She has made it clear that they cannot have a romantic relationship.
