Caribbean Premier League 2020: CPL Full Schedule, Squads, T20 Match Timings and Streaming Details

The Caribbean Premier League (CPL) has revised its schedule for the 2020 season. Below, you can find the start date, match timings and other details. One thing to note that start time for the weekend matches have been changed.

On Saturday and Sunday, the matches will start at 2:15 pm local time (7:30 pm IST). Trinidad & Tobago will host all the 33 matches. All of them will be played in two stadiums from August 18 to September 10.

23 of 33 matches will be played at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy located in Tarouba. It includes the semi-finals and final. Rest of the 10 matches will be played in the Queen’s Park Oval of Spain.

Because of the coronavirus pandemic, the CPL 2020 will be played in a bio-secure environment. Stringent protocols will be followed to protect the players and people involved in the league.

The opening match of CPL 2020 will be played between TKR and GAW on August 18. To follow the strict rules, all the players had to arrive in the nation before two weeks of the tournament. Several players couldn’t follow the restriction. So, they will miss out CPL 2020.

Five cricketers from South Africa won’t be playing this time as they couldn’t reach the Island in time due to travel restrictions. Only Imran Tahir managed to make in time as he had been in Pakistan due to lockdown. Logistical issues canceled the plan of three Afghanistani players.

However, Rashid Khan, Mohammad Nabi, Mujeeb-Ur-Rehman, Najbullah Zadran, Naveen-Ul-Haq, and Zahir Khan reached the island before the given time. Owing to missed flight, West Indies’ all round Fabian Allen will miss the league the time.

Personal reasons restricted Chris Gayle from reaching in time. He had to play for St Lucia Zouks. But, he has confirmed to play for Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 which is to happen in UAE.

India’s Pravin Tambe will be the first from the country to play in CPL. He has been roped in by Trinbago Knight Riders. Star Sports will provide the live telecast of CPL 2020 while the live streaming will be available on Fancode app.
